Conservation is in all of our hands. Here are a few
examples of people and organizations who have taken conservation
into their hands. It is through this kind of dedication
that we can make a difference in the conservation of
our natural resources.
2008-2009
Employee of the Year Garth Davis, Forestry Program Manager, was honored at the local and state level as Employee of the Year.
Practicing What He Teaches: Matthew Phililpy, a science teacher from West Valley City School, uses the land as his classroom exposing his students to real-world experiences.
Leadership in Conservation Award: R&G Malloy Family Holdings, LLC., were the honored recipients of the SCCD Leadership in Conservation Award for their dedication to conservation that began in 1967.
The Susie Forest Nancy MacKerrow honors her late daughter's love of conservation with The Susie Forest, which plants trees throughout Spokane and as far away as New Zealand.

The Grunte Property Peter Grunte worked with the SCCD and the Department of Ecology to help curb the soil erosion on his Hangman Creek property.
