National

The NBB is the national trade association representing the biodiesel industry
as the coordinating body for research and development in the US. It was founded
in 1992 by state soybean commodity groups, who were funding biodiesel research
and development programs. Since that time, the NBB has developed into a comprehensive
industry association, which coordinates and interacts with a broad range of
cooperators including industry, government, and academia. NBB's membership
is comprised of state, national, and international feedstock and feedstock
processor organizations, biodiesel suppliers, fuel marketers and distributors,
and technology providers.

The University of Idaho conducts biodiesel research and holds workshops on
biodiesel projects such as a 2004 workshop designed to : Share up-to-date information
about biodiesel production, availability and use with employees of the state
departments of transportation.

The mission of the Clean Cities Program is to advance the nation's economic, environmental, and energy security by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption. Clean Cities carries out this mission through a network of more than 80 volunteer coalitions, which develop public/private partnerships to promote alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid vehicles, and idle reduction.
