Earth Day 2020 with EnviroKids Club

Did you know April 22 is Earth Day? It’s a day to celebrate the Earth. Enjoy the outdoors. Smell the fresh air, pick up some litter, plant a tree, or simply walk around your yard. Look at the trees, search for birds, wildflowers or flower bulbs. Go outside, no matter the weather!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 when over 20 million people ventured outside to support environmental issues. The goal was to raise awareness about our role in protecting our natural world. Every year there is a theme. This year’s theme is Climate Action. What can you do to help?

This is a strange time for all of us. Being home from school can be difficult. You might be looking for things to do. We have found some fun, environmental activities that you can do without leaving your house or yard to celebrate Earth Day.

Please share your completed activities with us and receive extra EnviroKids points! Just email a photo back to us. Interested in past newsletters? Check out the EnviroKids Webpage.

Have fun and celebrate the Earth!
