Winter/Spring 2008 In Touch with Conservation Newsletter
In this edition of the newsletter we meet the newest Supervisor to join the Spokane County Conservation District team; Mary Sullivan who was appointed to the Board last November. We also feature Tree City USA, a program of the National Arbor Day Foundation that aims to help local communities create well-organized tree care programs. We highlight several programs undertaken by the Water Resources department and we continue our series of "Conservation in Action" by featuring the planting habits of Phil Petersen, who transformed 10 acres of vacant land into a sprawling forestland with over 200 trees.

Summer/Fall 2007 In Touch with Conservation Newsletter
In this edition, we continue our series of stories about the conservation efforts of local citizens, businesses, communities and governments. This edition highlights the work of Lawrence and Elizabeth Brown, Wildlife Farmer of the Year. Also included is information on living with fire, proper tree maintenance, and conserving water with xeriscape landscaping.

Winter/Spring 2007 In Touch with Conservation Newsletter This edition of the newsletter kicks-off a series of articles on "Conservation in Action", stories about those in the community who are taking conservation into their hands. Also, learn how to build with trees, celebrate trees on Arbor Day, and purchase trees at the SCCD plant sale. Other features include updates on the water resource planning projects in Hangman/Latah Creek and the Little Spokane River.

Summer 2006 In Touch with Conservation Newsletter "Conservation Is In All Our Hands" and this newsletter provides insights on how each of us can share in the responsibility for managing our natural resources. Learn how you can conserve water, protect air and water quality, provide wildlife habitat and much more.

Spring 2006 In Touch with Conservation Newsletter "Getting Ready for Spring" is the theme of this edition of the District newsletter. Articles include tips on achieving success in the garden, a step-by-step guide to reforestation projects, updates on water quality improvement projects and an inspirational story on making a difference.

Summer 2005 In Touch with Conservation Newsletter This inaugural edition of the restyled newsletter features a collection of articles dealing with various aspects of the drought, including the forest fire danger and beating the drought through the use of direct seeding, tips on water conservation and a guide to proper lawn care.

Winter 2005 Spotlight Newsletter Featured articles include details on the Hangman Creek Properly Functioning Condition Assessment, and the newsletter also provides updates on the volunteer water quality testing program and the soils survey.

Summer 2004 Spotlight Newsletter This edition of the District newsletter features stories on the water quality concerns of the Little Spokane River and the Shoreline Inventory and Assessment Project, provides updates on the District's biodiesel program and gives details on common forest problems.
