Department of Ecology's Hangman Creek Water Quality Improvement Plan (TMDL) The Department of Ecology is working in cooperation with the Conservation District on the Hangman (Latah) Creek TMDL project. Ecology is also providing the funding for the project.

Clean Water Act The federal Clean Water Act requires states to identify water bodies that do not meet water quality standards designed to ensure the water is healthy for fish and wildlife habitat, agricultural water supplies, recreation and other beneficial uses.
