APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. 

 

The minutes for June were reviewed. 

 

A Motion was made to approve the May minutes as revised by Bill Rickard and was seconded by Bill Sayers.  Motion carried.


 

OLD BUSINESS

Time sheets

Rick asked for everyone to please fill out their timesheets and turn them in.

 

Walt Edelen reviewed the progress of both the HB 2514 Water Quantity report and work presently being conducted on the Spokane River clean up.  The HB 2514 report has been approved and before the county commissioners for review and approval. 

 

Water quality work on the Spokane River has identified non-point pollution in the Hangman and Little Spokane River watersheds as places that could be targeted reduce overall phosphate levels in the Spokane River.  Walt wanted ideas to present at the Spokane River non-point source sub-committee.  Rick, Walt, Charlie Johnson, and Bill Sayres agreed to meet and discuss ideas to present. 


 

Public comment

Rick opened the floor for public comment.  There were no public comments.

 

No-Till and AFO/CAFO Presentation

Ty Meyer gave a presentation on no-till drills, their operation, types, benefits, and costs.  After the discussion on no-till, Ty gave a presentation on animal feeding operations (AFO) and confined animal feeding operations (CAFO). 

 

 

BMP Options Sheet

The final BMP were added to the Septic issue section.  Rick and Elaine will format the issues and BMPs into a format for the final submittal report.

 

Public Comment

The group wanted to take August and September off for harvest.

 

Next Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Community Center. 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
