Introductions

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m.  Introductions were done and the minutes were postponed until after the Ecology presentation by Joe Joy.

 

Review of Fecal coliform load allocations, phosphorus and sediment modeling

Joe Joy with the Department of Ecology gave a power point presentation on fecal coliform roll back method, Hangman Creek macro invertebrate study, and the EPA grant to complete the modeling of phosphate and sediment.  Joe updated his estimated schedule, the schedule has him presenting initial model results in September and completing the technical assessment by December.

 

Approval of Minutes:

The minutes for January 19, 2006 were reviewed.  Draft was misspelled and corrected.  Motion to approve the corrected minutes was made by Reanette Boese and seconded by Gary Ostheller.  The motion passed.  The notes from March 16 were reviewed.  Spelling errors were noted and corrected. 

 

Old business

Rick opened the floor for public comment.  David Tysz brought up a small project in Tekoa that involves removing a fish passage barrier.  He wanted to know if there was any funding available to help with the removal.



Discussion on increasing stewardship among stakeholders, who to involve

Stakeholder involvement and interest ideas were reviewed from the events already held.  The agricultural producers were provided information on the plan at a fertilizer/pesticide classes in January.  Livestock owner involvement for the southern part of the watershed was held in Fairfield was held in March.  Local streamside and small acreage owners near Duncan held had a meeting in April.  More meetings can be planned and anyone interested in hosting or helping with the meetings is encouraged to contact Rick. 

 

Draft Submittal Report comments

Rick explained the new Ecology format for the TMDL report.  He asked for any comments on the report.  There were none at the meeting and he asked that comments be sent to him.

There was no further public comment

 

NEXT MEETING

It was decided to schedule the next meeting after Joe Joy completed the load analysis.  Rick will contact everyone several weeks prior to the next meeting.
